Wankaner is one of the backward villages of Morbi District. Majority of the people are businessmen. But the educated people of Wankaner hopefully wished for an English Medium School in their town. So they went to the palace and had a discussion with Maharaj Kumar Shri.Digvijay Sinhji and his father, His Highness Shri Maharaj Pratap Sinhji. Along with all the prominent members, they requested us to start an English Medium School at Wankaner. His Highness was generous enough to offer one of his buildings free of rent to conduct the school for time-being.
      A Trust namely Franciscan Educational and Charitable Trust was formed and registered on 23rd February 92 for the smooth running of the institution. This Trust is involved in various charitable and educational activities. A good number of sisters are engaged selflessly in such activities.
      22nd June 1992 was a red letter day in the Annals of Wankaner because it was the day on which Nirmala Convent English Medium School was formally inaugurated by his Highness Maharaj Pratap Sinhji, lighting the candle amidst the rejoicing throng of the eminent people of Wankaner and all the well-wishers.
      Nirmala Convent English Medium School is a Catholic Co-educational Institution. It aims at imparting a sound education for the development of the entire personality and character formation based on the love of God and the Service of men. It not only imparts instruction, but emphasises corporate activity in making each pupil mentally alert, physically well-fit, emotionally well balanced and intellectually alive. The entire scheme of education is planned systematically keeping in view the nations aspiration to mould the students into active, useful and worthy citizens of our motherland. Motto of the school is ‘Love and Service’.
